🥄 Ingredients

  • 500 g fresh peas
  • 3 medium new potatoes (about 350 g), diced
  • 3 new carrots (about 150 g), halved lengthwise
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes (about 350 g), grated
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • A pinch ground cinnamon
  • 2 sprigs fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 🧅 Sauté chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat for about 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  2. 🍅 Add grated tomatoes, bay leaf, cinnamon, and cloves. Continue to cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. 🥔 Add diced potatoes and halved carrots. Pour in about 300 ml water to almost cover vegetables. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. 🔥 Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. 🌱 Stir in peas and chopped dill. Cover and cook an additional 15 minutes. Check peas for tenderness without overcooking.
